Philipp von Bock (31) is a designer with focus on the intersection of architecture, communication and new technology with profound theoretical and
practical background. From urban strategies and buildings to temporary pavilions, installations and objects the creation of new spaces is
intimately connected with ongoing research into digital design, construction and fabrication processes.

During his studies of lightweight and membrane structures at the ILEKlab of Werner Sobek, he began to experiment with light emitting textiles –
published in the magazine ARCH+, followed by pavilion designs combining pneumatic and membrane construction principles. His skills in the field of
digital design processes expanded when he started his internship at UNStudio in Amsterdam. After his diploma thesis at the institutes of
Prof. Markus Allmann and Prof. Jan Knippers he graduaded from the Universität Stuttgart as one of the five best graduands with a scholarship.

The skyscraper design „Spiral Living“ earned him first international recognizion and let to publications world wide – e.g. by the US based architecture
and design journal eVolo as well as on German and French TV chanel ARTE.
